Sustainable Communities
Aberdeen Forward runs a Sustainable Communities Centre within its head office on Poynernook Road, Aberdeen. The Sustainable Communities Centre is a community resource that provides training courses and creative workshops to the public. In addition to this, it provides businesses and third sector organisations with affordable, good quality office space, meeting room rental and mailing services.
The Sustainable Communities Centre was launched in 2009 and supported by Scottish Government’s Third Sector Enterprise Fund. It will be used to further promote Aberdeen Forward’s sustainable living projects and used to help initiate new, community led projects that are in-keeping with the charity’s aims and help the environment.
The centre provides community space for partners to run workshops, as well as meeting space for local groups. It provides volunteering opportunities for those wishing to learn new skills and access workplace experience or gain key life skills.
