Volunteering

Aberdeen Forward is grateful to the many volunteers who give up their time to help the charity meet its aims. There are many volunteering opportunities available at the charity and they are fully supported and encouraged to develop their skills and gain experience.

Current volunteering opportunities are:

  • Zero Waste Volunteer – Attend events, distribute leaflets, and talk to the public about the 5 Zero Waste campaigns:
    • Home Composting
    • Peat Free Compost
    • Love Food Hate Waste
    • Stop the Drop
    • Recycle Now
  • Real Nappy Volunteer – Attend the monthly nappy club, advise new and expectant parents on the range of real nappies available, give talks at ante-natals
  • Van Assistant – Assist with Friday collections and deliveries
  • Hobby Club Facilitator – Greet new visitors to the weekly Hobby Club, organise refreshments
  • Workshop Leads – If you have a skill you would like to pass on to a group of people we can organise a workshop

Investing in Volunteers
The Investing in Volunteers scheme is the UK standard for all organisations which involve volunteers in their work. The standard enables organisations to comprehensively review their volunteer management and also publicly demonstrate their commitment to volunteering (www.investinginvolunteers.org.uk)
