Give or Take Sale this Saturday
Aberdeen Forward has been gearing up for a busy weekend this Saturday at our inaugural ‘Give or Take Sale’, which is being held at Stonehaven this weekend (Saturday 27th March). We’ve had a lot of interest and a huge number of goods are expected to be on offer for people to take away for free.
The scheme forms part of an initiative set up by Aberdeen Forward to encourage people to re-use unwanted goods. The sale is being held at Stonehaven Town Hall and people are asked to bring goods along between 8.30am and 12noon. Items asked for include unwanted household & garden items, toys, bikes, kitchenware, books, CDs & DVDs, as well as plants and furniture.
In return, givers can then help themselves to other goods, which will be displayed between 12noon and 3pm, with everything on display being completely free.
Lynn Smith, Chief Executive of Aberdeen Forward commented: “the give or take day should be fun and the idea behind it is to get people to appreciate that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure and recycling is an option for unwanted goods. We’ve already gained a lot of interest in the event and are looking forward to reinforcing our message on the day.”

RNLI Easter Fun Day at Duthie Park
Visit Duthie Park on Sunday 4th April 12noon – 4pm and take part in egg and spoon races, the Easter bonnet parade and the Easter egg decoration competition. There is also a children’s giant slide, a home baking stall and plenty of other fun activities! All money raised will go to the Aberdeen Lifeboats.
OPEN DAY this SATURDAY
Come along to our Open Day this Saturday (6th) between 10am – 2pm. We’ll be selling our usual selection of good quality, low cost resources. Stock your wood burning stove or fire by picking up a large bag of wood for only £3.
